A more detailed application may be required if the Arts Council is interested in pursuing this partnership.

Hartford Creates is specifically for events, arts activations, and public art that takes place in the City of Hartford. Completing this Project/Partnership Interest Form is the first step towards funding through the Hartford Creates program.

Theater Week 2024 applications are Invitation Only.

Guidelines for Theater Week 2024 Applications:

Theater Week funding for 2024 can be used in two ways:

  1. To provide subsidized tickets for new audiences to attend performances at your theater during the 2 weeks of Theater Weeks 2024. Theaters can choose the subsidized rate based on their ticket price, audience size, and other elements unique to their theater.
  2. To implement programming at your theater that attracts new audiences during the 2 weeks of Theater Week 2024.

Theaters can select one or both of these options, keeping in mind that we are looking for the biggest impact for the dollars invested.

Use of Funds:

  • Funding should be used to primarily cover programming.
  • Up to 10% of the total award amount can be used on marketing and communications costs
  • Up to 10% of the total award amount can be used on staff and other admin costs

Your grant application should include a detailed budget that outlines the costs of programming associated with Theater Week and other costs to your theater. But the budget should NOT include the cost of the production that was already scheduled to occur at your theater during the weeks of Theater Week.

Please keep in mind that the Greater Hartford Arts Council will provide support with marketing and communications of the overall Theater Week brand and program.

The maximum award for Theater Week grants in 2024 will be $10,000.

Timeline:

  • Application Deadline: June 30, 2024
  • Award Notifications: July 31, 2024
  • Marketing Campaign Begins: August 2024
